Dear members,

We have to be realistic and acknowledge that a conference and refresher weekend may not be the best way to meet your expectations in the present climate. Unfortunately, the number of bookings for our conference on the 11 and 12th July is too low for us to go ahead without making a loss that our limited finances cannot support. We have to make a tough decision, which of course makes us unhappy: it seems better to cancel this year’s event altogether and focus on putting the CPDs on the road to reach you in your area, closer to where you live and teach. We will very shortly announce a Birthlight CPD ‘on the road’ programme for rolling out continuous professional development throughout the UK, particularly in the Midlands, in the North and in Scotland.

In order to responds to our members’ requests for continuous professional development, we have maintained the CPD component of the conference in the form of a Perinatal CPD day in London on the 12 July. This will be led by Francoise and Liese Van Dam. Please check our website for further CPD & training course information.

At the same time we will try and give you the benefit of international speakers’ innovative work through regular communications on our website. Of course, this is not as good as meeting face to face, but you have shown us in practice that this was not possible at present for a majority of members.

Please let us know your views and your wishes, so we can best respond to your needs.
